12|09|08 | R U Ready 4 Tha Riots? is out.... You may have been wondering where the hell I've been. You may not have...but either way, my posts have been sparse recently. 3 years ago I had the grand intention of releasing my second Spase + Tyme album, the followup to the critically acclaimed Stealing The Past EP. I sat down, selected the tracks to use, started mixing, even named the album...and BAM, Art Deko and I began working on our album and the Spase + Tyme album got thrown on the backburner.
Well, I finally got off my ass and finished it. It's called R U Ready 4 Tha Riots? and it's ready for your aural consumption.
Most of this stuff is old, up to 5 years old actually. There are a couple new and newish tracks though, including track 7, 'All Seeing Eye', a crazy breakbeat psychedelia instrumental joint I've been working on for the past 14 months.
In about a week it will be on sale on CDBaby.com, and a couple weeks after that it will show up on iTunes....but in the meantime, it's free. As a matter of fact, it will always be free....the whole album is available as 128kbps mp3's in the downloads section at ConcentratedEfforts.com
Peace,
Josh aka J Kanizzle
11|10|08 | J Kanizzle on XM Radio Monday 11/10 10pm et, Tuesday 11/11 2pm et on (XMU ch.43, Direct TV 843)
How did Subsoniq start? Whose idea was it to include a progressive hip hop show on satellite radio? Who were the original hosts? Which channel originally threw major support behind the show and got it on the satellite platform? What early artists showed love to the show and helped the show get its feet? What role did it play in creating Panacea? All of this and much more are answered in this week’s show! Subsoniq welcomes one of the original creators of show (Josh aka J Kannizle) into the studio for an in-depth look at the history of the show, the music it supports, and what the future holds. Check it out this week exclusively on XMU (ch.43, Direct TV 843)!
09|21|08 | New Spase + Tyme! I've been sitting on about 2 hours worth of mostly completed tracks from the Spase + Tyme crew for a few years now for the follow up to our critically acclaimed first release, Stealing The Past...and I've been meaning to get this album of lost material out. I've finally got off my ass and just about finished it up. I just got the bar code, just lined up the digital distribution, and just getting ready to press up a few copies this weekend. You should be able to cop this joint online in the next week and a half....if I finish everything correctly!
Peace,
J 2 da Niz

09|18|04 | CD Baby Review of Spase + Tyme, Stealing The Past Reviewer: Tamara Turner, CD Baby
You don't have to imagine the sizzle... it's all around you, like sitting in a neck-high jacuzzi of groove, sampling the icy chill on a silver platter, sipping down the bubbly that dissolves your apathy and sends your mind to a place of possibility. Steeped in esoteric lyrics, marinated in the breadth of experience and real life knowledge, Spase and Tyme spout out some damn fine alternative hip hop. Appropriate to their namesake, they build three-dimensional tracks with weighty vibes and gravity-defying mixes. Soaked in a sauce of insight and hindsight, "Stealing The Past EP" has something to say.
